Standardized Assessment Tools are Developed

Posted On: January 28, 2013

The BrainWise Knowledge Survey developed by Dr. Barry and her colleagues, measures how well students have learned the course material and is available for anyone who wishes to use it. If more advanced research is desired, i.e. measurements on how well program graduates apply and use thinking skills, the BrainWise Research Team will work with agencies on measuring the executive functions of BrainWise students. The standardized assessment tools (Behavior Research Inventory of Executive Functions – BRIEF) needs to be purchased, and is about $4 per individual for pre and posttests). The questionnaire is administered after students have completed the 50 or more hours of practice using BrainWise. This means that students use the skills outside the classroom and are able to apply the wise ways to themselves, as well as simultaneously apply them to others. The BrainWise Research Team will analyze the data without charge.
